One peculiar corner of the web

IHMN Dagonite Company

Danny and Palmer came over for a few games tonight and we took the opportunity to run a test game of In Her Majesty’s Name for Palmer. Danny only had his über equipped Predator force with him and we didn’t think that it would be fair to have Palmer face them so I quickly put together a Company using my Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten Dagonite Cult.

We played on a partial section of the terrain that had been set up for our earlier Bolt Action game.

Table

I didn’t really have a lot of time to think about the force so its a bit unfocused but I was trying to have some mystic Fishmen accompanied by a mass of rabble.

One of the things that I really like about In Her Majesty’s Name is the ability to take a group of figures and stat them out in a very short time. This game was a great example.

I call the big one Pinchy

Danny took the Cult and Palmer played my Institut Company and they just played the default scenario using six objectives in the table centre with three being “dummy” objectives. I spent most of my time painting an Infinity terrain piece and looking things up on the reference sheets so I don’t really have a good idea of how the game specifics went turn by turn.

Despite the Deep One and the Feet of Lead power, Palmer won the day by pulling off two objectives and taking the game outside of Danny’s ability to win by gaining casualty VPs. It didn’t help that Palmer was also able to gang up the Deep One and then take him down with Col. Difol and his Duelist ability.

Defeat

Palmer seemed to be sold on the game and we have plans to meet again next Thursday for another game or two.

  1. Yes it was a fun game. I liked the pace and of course the way you can customize your characters.

BTW the photos look great you have a good eye for the shoot!

    1. Thanks.

I talked to Craig and Danny was correct about how Duelist works. So you might have had a bit more trouble with the Deep One if we were following the spirit of the rules.

I am going to dig around the house and see what other figs I have to build another company.

      1. I saw what Craig said on Facebook he actually said the way we applied duelist was technically correct but not how they envisioned it but I am fine to house rule it as only two mini’a in a combat lol…..

  2. Spirit?! I was going by the written law of the land Ha Ha!
