I didn’t have a chance to take photos before our game today so here are my completed StuG III G and the leIG18 team.
Not entirely happy with the StuG but I learned a bit about painting the camouflage and weathering. Now on to some of the infantry.
In addition to my recently finished IHMN figures, I also finished my cult for Uncle Mike’s Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten.
The Dagonite cult has ten members including a rather huge Deep One, three cultists, four Hybrids and two Fishmen. These were painted quite quickly and are probably not really much better than tabletop standard but they are finished and ready for some gaming.
My favourite figure of the bunch is the Deep One which is a Dark Mariner figure from the Shadowsea range. It appears to be nothing other than a pile of tentacles hidden in a shell. I tried a few different effects on it to make it look more like a crustacean but it didn’t come out the way I wanted.
Like my Institut figures, these have a slight gloss to them from the “matte” sealant so I will need to find some Dullcoat or similar to try to remove than sheen.
In what is almost akin to a miracle for me, I managed to paint all the figures for my In Her Majesty’s Name company.
Eleven figures in total with two automatons, my Professor, his mechanic sidekick, and a set of Chausseurs to protect them in the field. The Chausseurs have an officer to guide them and a heavy Arc weapon for added punch.
The matte sealant I use for my figures failed me this time. It not only came out with a slight gloss but it also darkened the figures slightly. Looks like I won’t be using Krylon any more as while the slight shade isn’t an issue the added sheen is. I hate glossy figures.
This is the first set of figures I have painted in over four years. So they don’t look all that great but its a first step back into painting.
In between the 101 other hobby related things I am doing (my ability to focus on a single task is often limited) I managed to finish painting my Corporation Dreadball team, Ref and ball.
