Infinity

On the painting table

I had a few hours to myself today so I managed to get some painting done. I started work on the leIG18 and crew as well as the StuG III G for my Bolt Action force. I also started work on PanO Military Order starter set. The StuG III is still in parts as I need to paint the tracks prior to attaching them (its just easier) and then the main body and schurzen need to be painted and then assembled once most of the work on the body has been completed.

Oddly I am finding the StuG less intimidating than the leIG18 crew. Something about having to get all the colours on the uniform correct is causing me to stress about painting them. The PanO figures are for the local Infinity Escalation league. I suspect that I will miss the first two weeks due to the twin’s soccer schedule but I want to attempt to keep up with the rest of the players so I don’t get too far behind.

Saruman and Remotes

Some quick pictures of the two PanO Remotes I finished painting as well as the Saruman mini for my War of the Ring army.

Next up is my Cutter and then I have four quick figs for my War of the Rings army

More Infinity painting

Started to do the base coats for the PanO Remotes and I also assembled and primed the Cutter TAG. I’ve put a pin into one of the feet of the Cutter to make it easier to base it. I’ll need to use one of the 60mm bases as it really is far too large for the 40mm bases. The Remotes also barely fit on the 40mm bases but of more pressing concern is how I am going to get them pinned to the base.

Remotes assembled

I took a few moments this evening to assemble the two PanO Infinity Remotes that I will be painting. Originally I intended to make them into a Guided Missile boat and one of the FO models but decided, while putting the parts together, to make one a Sierra with HMG. I think this makes the Remotes a bit more useful independently as well as giving me an opportunity to use the Fusilier FO that I created instead of a far more expensive Remote.

Next batch of Infinity finished

The next five figures for my PanO Infinity force have been finished. Again I am using my “quick and dirty” painting method to get these done as fast as possible.

Not the best picture but…

These are the Trauma Doc, Knight Hospitaler, Fusilier, Fusilier Sniper and Fusilier Hacker. Next to be painted will be the Remotes and the Akalis.

Next up

So next up on the painting table are the other PanO Infinity figures I need to paint. After that I think I am going to return to my Isengard army and paint Saruman and perhaps some more Warg Riders and then the Siege Ballista. The base for it is quite large so perhaps I will do something interesting with the base to make the model stand out.

Painting progress

Managed to do a little bit of painting and prep work in the last few days. I finished painting thirteen Urak-hai Scout bowmen for War of the Rings. I just need to base them and then they are ready to get added to my army. I have a bit of a basing backlog to deal with as I have nine Crossbowmen, nine Bezerkers and six other Scout bowmen to base as well.

Infinity figures arrived

The two parcels from The Warstore with my Infinity figures arrived. I ordered the Yu Jing starter, a Tiger Soldier a box of Yu Jing remotes, a Fusilier Hacker and a Zhanshi Hacker. Don, from The Warstore, was kind enough to send along the PanO Starter Box and a Cutter. Which was terribly kind of him.

It took a few days to go through Customs here in Canada but it arrived yesterday and I started to assemble the Yu Jing starter. I have to say that I am incredibly impressed with the figures. Not only do they have a great amount of very crisp and precise detail on them but they were almost entirely free of mould lines and flash. Oddly most of the flash was on the tab that goes into the base.

I’ve got the Yu Jing Starter set cleaned and ready to assemble and I will be doing that tomorrow with an eye to getting them primed and base coated this weekend.

The plan is to get both starter sets painted and then start adding minis to each to build them both up to 200 points. Once I’ve done that then I hope I will have picked a favourite of the two and perhaps keep the second force as a demo force.

TGN Battle Challenge

The first TGN Battle Challenge is up and running and as a part of that I will be working on building, painting and gaming using two forces for Infinity. This will cut into my time for my Isengard force so my priority until my Infinity figs arrive in the mail is to get as much as that War of the RIngs army done. Hopefully I will be able to get it up to 1500 points before I start work on Infinity.

I have some Pan Oceania and Yu Jing miniatures coming from The Warstore. These include the starters for both factions, the second edition rulebook and some extra minis for each faction including a Hacker.
